Wheelock Hall Farm is just outside of Sandbach in Cheshire. It has a large farm shop selling high-quality local produce from fruit and vegetables to dairy produce and meats, homemade cakes and preserves. It also has a cafe and sells gardening equipment, plants and toys and gifts. However, the main attraction is their massive indoor and outdoor play area. With bouncing pillows, wooden structures to climb, racing slides, an assault course and one of the biggest indoor play barns in Cheshire.

We always enjoy a visit to Wheelock Farm. There is so much to play on for the kids and it seems that every time we visit there is something new in the play area.
It is a great day out during the summer but also great for the winter months, when the weather isn't reliable. It not only has a massive outdoor play area but also one of the biggest and best indoor play areas too.
The Outside Play Area
My girls favourite in the play has to be the assault course. This has got lots bridges, walls to climb, balance beams, tires to clamber and tunnels to crawl through. There is also loads of swings, slides, seesaws and a zipwire.
Some newer additions over the last couple of years include 2 bouncing pillows, a giant wooden bridge structure with racing slides, a plastic tunnel maze and even a jail to play in.
On this visit we played for ages as a family on the bean bag target game, which had us split unto two teams fighting it out to get the bean bag in the hole to score a point.
Indoor Playbarn
The indoor play barn has also recently doubled in size and it is now gigantic. I went inside with my girls to have an explore. Its about 90% soft play with padded things to jump over, squeeze through and run along. ⚠ warning if you have bad knees dont go in the hard plastic tunnel, this was a killer! At one end there is a ball games area with football and basketball and at the other some really big pedal go karts and a pretty big track to drive around.
Inside the soft play there are actually loads of seating and tables for parents to sit and have a coffee at while the kids play. Picnics aren't allowed in the play area (there is an area near the car park where its allowed) but there is a cafe on site. The service can be abit slow when we have tried to order food in the past, this may have improved but we do tend to pack a picnic when visiting.
Farm Shop
The shop at Wheelock is actually really good. Its like an Aladdin's cave filled with gifts, toys and things for the home. The farm shop part is full of fresh fruit and veg, lots of bakery goods which include really good cakes and pies and other groceries.
Seasonal Events
🎃Pumpkin Patch
To visit their pumpkin patch you have to pay the full entry price for the farm which comes to £28 for a family of 4 but you can literally spend all day there!
In the pumpkin patch there are loads to choose from including lots of unusual types of pumpkins such as ghost, green goblin, yellow belly, and blaze. There are lots off fabulous places to get some lovely autumn photos to treasure those memories. With Pumpkin Cottage, a lovely autumn swing, a tractor to climb upon and a waggon over flowing with pumpkins to pose with.
