The Stick Man Trail will take young visitors on an adventure through our acres of woodland, as they help The Stick Man on his adventure back to the Family Tree.
Featuring new carvings inspired by the story, as well as our ever-popular The Stick Man sculpture to find along the way, there is plenty to spot along the mile-long route.

Farmyard & Playground
Discover our farmyard and farmyard friends, plus a newly reopened woodland adventure playground with climbing towers, racing slides, plus sand and water play.
In the farmyard you can meet our friendly animals, from pigs and horses to mischievous goats and guinea pigs, many of whom you can feed, pet or even cuddle.
We're also delighted to be home to a number of rare breeds including Suffolk Punch horses, Shire horses, Albion cattle, Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs, Bagot goats, Cream Legbar chickens and more.
From the farmyard, take the secret tunnel to the woodland playground for exciting adventures.

Open Air Bounce Outdoor inflatable park

The attraction is packed with 15 huge inflatables including bouncy castles, slides and obstacle courses. This year there are longer play sessions, extra dates and even more characters and entertainment for little ones to enjoy during their visit.

The Hot Wheels City Experience, BEC Arena

An interactive event celebrating the legendary miniature toy cars of Hot Wheels is coming to Manchester for the first time this summer. The Hot Wheels City Experience will make its European debut in the city.

The Manchester Pride Parade is the city’s biggest parade with thousands of LGBTQ+ communities and their allies marching for equality. This dazzling spectacle attracts thousands of spectators who line the streets to cheer on and join the protest for LGBTQ+ equality. This joyous event is free to attend and suitable for all ages.
Rochdale Feel Good Festival Weekend
Friday 9th Aug and Sunday 11th Aug has free music performances around the town.
But on Saturday 10th Aug there is a showcase of top class entertainment, food and culture. This year's headliners includes Ocean Colour Scene, Lottery Winners, Heather Small and Toucan. At just £15 a ticket it looks like a great event.

Widnes has been home to some interesting smells through the years, thanks to its thriving local chemistry industry. Join our family workshop and take part in hands-on activities to celebrate all things smelly: test your own sense of smell, make a fragrant solid perfume and sniff a scent from space.

The Planet Awakens

The Earth is changing and scientists are working hard to address many environmental issues. Visit our workshop and take part in hands-on activities looking at; the land – with bug hunting, the air – making a simple air monitor and the oceans – investigating the effects of ocean acidification on shells.

Come and learn about one of nature’s best scientists – the honeybee. Experiment with stings, learn about bee-hives and make a buzzer so you can buzz like a bee!

Hat Works Museum, Stockport
A museum celebrating Stockport's history of hat making reopened in March after being closed for four years for a £100,000 refurbishment.
Based in a grade II listed Victorian mill in the town centre, the museum has more than 1,300 items on show for visitors to enjoy, including examples of the manufacturing process.
The tradition of hat making has long been associated with the town, as factories made use of the rivers to power their machinery and get rid of waste.
Take a tour of the factory floor where you can learn the facts about Stockport’s hat trade. You can also see the restored Victorian hat-making machines in motion for the first time since 2016.
The factory floor tour is most suited to adults and young people, but children aged 8 and above are welcome and you can book online here.
Admission to the museum is free. Tours cost £7.50 for adults and under 16s are free when accompanied by an adult.
