Here is the route we took, it was 1.3km long one way and had some cobbles so a carrier would be better than pushchair but it is pushchair friendly if you don't mind the bumps.
There are alternative routes which are slightly better for pushchairs which can be found here. From Hale Centre | Footpath Route Planner (footpathapp.com)

Parking
We parked along South Down Drive. There is also an option to park along South road which is the road off South Downs Drive.
1. Walk down South Road looking out for a road on the right called Ashley Mill Lane. It is a quiet road with some lovely looking houses on. Take this road and head to the far end.
2. At the end of Ashley Mill lane, the road surface turns into cobbles, and at the end, there is a wooden gate and access onto a footpath. Look out for the no cycling sign as your marker.
3. Walk along this path, going through a lightly wooded area till you get to Ashley Mill Bridge. Make our way over the bridge, stopping to play pooh sticks, of course.
4. At the end of this path turn left and you only need to walk a few meters before seeing an opening in the hedge on the right to take you across the field. You can carry on straight and follow the road round to the right to miss out the field if it is muddy or wet.
5. Once across the field you come to a stile and are then on the road you would have been on if you had missed out the field. You're now back on Ashley Mill Road. To the right you can see a wooded area. This is where "Into The Wild Bushcraft and Coffee Shack" is located.
6. Walk towards the wood and the entrance is just round the left bend, on your right.
7. All there is to do now is sit down and relax in their rustic wooden seating area, order a coffee or a beer, let the kids play on the adventure play ground and share a woodfired pizza. Before walking back the way you came.
