In the past I normally go to the Ice Cream Farm in summer, but it actually lends itself to a great place to go in the cooler months. As long as it's not raining lots!

Play Passes

I got my girls' play passes last year in the boxing day sale, which i would always recommend getting as they were 50% off so each play works out at £1.25 each.

Normally a "play" is £4.50 with no play pass or £2.50 with a play pass. If there is so sale on, the bigger the quantity of play passes you buy the cheaper it works out. They last for 2 years so you can use it on plenty of visits.

As a guide, between my two daughters we tend to use about 4-6 passes each time we visit.

Today, my girls had a game of adventure golf. This is a brightly coloured fun course with a giant strawberry waterfall in the centre.

Free Play Area

There is a large free play area in the middle, including some trampolines set in the floor and lots of balance beams, bridges, tunnels, swings, slides and a large spinning wheel which my girls always enjoy playing on.

Marshmellow Pillow

My girls always go on the "Marshmellow Pillow" for absolutely ages. You get a wristband for this so you can come and go on this activity throughout the day, which is a bonus. If it is busy you get limited to 10minutes at a time. There is a big one and a small one so younger children can bounce on their own and away from the bigger children.

Indoor Soft Play

The indoor play is again 1 play pass to visit. It is more suited to younger children as it has a large toddler area and the main play area is suitable to up to 10 years. It is a good place to go when parents want to sit down somewhere warm. You can oder food from the restaurant to eat in the soft play area. We ordered some burgers to have while the girls played and they were actually really nice. You are limited to an hour although I'm not sure how strict this is as you aren't given a timed wrist band or anything.

Strawberry Golf

In the centre of the farm is a massive strawberry themed 12 hole crazy golf course. Each player uses a play pass to play. It took us about 30mins to play the 12 holes and we were lucky to not have someone behind us so we could take our time over the shots enjoy the game. It has an amazing waterfall in the centre and has a really lovely brightly coloured design to the course. This is an activity we always do on each visit.

Ice Cream Tree

We sat and had a little rest while we waited for the count down on the fun, colourful bubble tree which sits as a centre piece of the play area. Every 30minutes the tree plays music and a cascade of bubbles fall from the branches. All the children run to the tree as soon as the music plays and you can hear squeals of delight.

Sand and Water play area.

This area can get busy so i would always suggest heading here first when you arrive at The Ice Cream Farm. The sand and water area has lots of water pumps, handles to turn, and taps so you can control where the water goes. The sand pits are intermingled between the water so it does get all abit messy in there. I always take shorts for my chilren to wear in there and remove their shoes and socks. Some children wear just underware or a swim suit. The other end of the sand and water area had some big wooden climbing frames with bridges and ropes to walk across like an assault course. This end is generally quieter.

Top Tip would be to take spare clothes what ever your child is wearing it may get wet.

Rocky Road Cars

The cars are little off road jeeps and the road has some bumps and a few hills making it much more interesting than a tarmac road. Your go in the cars last bout 4 minutes and you only get 1 go per pass.

Food & Drink

We stopped for a refuel, there are plenty of picnic tables in the "chill zone" so we enjoyed our picnic there. If you didn't bring a picnic there are plenty of places to get food including the Pit Stop which serves sausage rolls, pasties, hotdogs and kids lunch boxes. Sticky Paws which serves burgers and loaded fries. A full cafe next to the indoor soft play and also a pizza and pasta from Pizza Piazza.

Ice Cream Parlour

With over 50 award-winning and irresistible Cheshire Farm Ice Creams and sorbets its hard to choose which to order. Meters and meters of ice cream filled fridges are displayed in front of you. You can choose to have your ice cream in a tub, cone, with a slice of brownie or as a sundae. Inside the parlour there is plenty of places to sit or you can take your treat outside.

Walking back to the car we were all happy, tired and full of ice cream which I think every guest would be feeling after their visit to the Ice Farm.
