Their menu has a brilliant choice of breakfast and lunch items, all of which are homemade on the premises and the portions are nothing to be grumbled at. They offer lighter lunches such as sandwiches, paninis, salads and when asked what their soup of the day is you are usually greeted by a list of about 6 or 7 to choose from. They also offer some amazing hearty meals like lasagne, freshly made pies, chilli, scampi and the classic farmhouse ham, eggs and chips.

However, what we came for this afternoon was one of their amazing Afternoon Teas. A group of 6 mums making use of a free afternoon to catch up somewhere cosy and enjoy a beautifully made treat.

The Cobbles have two Afternoon Teas you can pre order with 24 hours notice. Their standard one is £11 per person and their deluxe version is £14.50.

We went for the standard one today which, when brought out on it's three tiered stand, looked as impressive as always. The bottom layer was made up of freshly made finger sandwiches with ham, chicken, egg mayo and tuna. Along with some sausage rolls and mini bitesize quiches.

The middle layer was an array of homemade cakes including coffee and walnut, lemon drizzle, a naughty chocolate brownie and a red velvet cupcake.

Finally, on top, was their gorgeous scones, sliced in half and topped with fresh cream and strawberries.
