In partnership with Wild in Art and Aardman, the supersized Shaun the Sheep sculptures have been designed and painted by local and regional artists. Themes will include the Tatton Park flora and fauna, Japanese Cherry Blossoms and Botanical inspired.
Six of the Shaun sculptures previously visited Clumber Park in 2023 and there are six brand new designs to seek out.
We paid £1 for a trail sheet and headed into the beautiful gardens on a sunny Sunday morning.
We were greeted by the first Shaun in the apple orchard and I instantly loved the design on the sculpture. It had apples all over and so brightly coloured. It just popped with brightness against the colours of the garden behind.
We carried on our search, each Shaun the Sheep was different and amazingly designed. They were so clever how the pattern linked to where they were in the National Trust garden. Japanese cherry blossom on the sculpture in the Japanese garden was on of my favourite, but then equally the one adorned in fruit and vegetables that we found in the walled kitchen garden was so much fun. To be honest it would be hard to choose a favourite.
Each sculpture is on a plinth which gives information about the design. This info can also be found on the trail sheet and as an adult I found this really interesting to read while my children were more interested in finding the hidden letter on each sheep to solve the hidden word.
Once you have all the letters you need to unscramble them and find the hidden word. Luckily, working together, we found out the answer and took our sheets to the garden shop at the end of the trail to collect a sticker.
Extra Fun for Children and Adults
By the house there were some fun garden games to enjoy as a family. Games like tic tac toe, hoopla and racing on space hoppers. These were a great addition to the trail an our time in the garden.
Can ewe find them all?
Which one is your favourite?
If you can solve Shaun's puzzle along the way, you can collect your reward sticker at the end of the trail.
Look out for some great Shaun merchandise and plush toys to take home, available to buy from the Gift and Garden Shops.
