Pushchair Friendly Walks in Cheshire
Pushchair Friendly Walks in Cheshire

Finding a walk with a good path is sometimes tricky. You could be a wheelchair user, pushing a pram, or have a child with a scooter or bike so bumps, steps, mud and narrow paths are out of the question.

Here is a list of walks in and around Cheshire which i believe to be pushchair friendly. Sometimes paths can change due to weather or maintenance but these were all suitable at the time of writing.

There is a Children’s Zoo, beautiful grounds that are perfect for picnics. There are woodland walks, flower beds and picturesque pond. Entertain the children for hours and hours at our fantastic, fully-accessible playground, play a round of Adventure Golf or Pitch ‘n’ Putt. Or book yourself on to the high ropes course. With the lovely Heritage Cafe.

Address: Warrington WA4 6SN

A lovely 6 km, there and back family friendly walk along the river, starting at the National Trust Quarry Bank and following the River Bollin to the Carrs Park in Wilmslow. There’s a playground area for the kids and it’s only a 10 min walk into the centre of Wilmslow if you want to get lunch. In the park is Cafe Azul serving takeaway items.

🌳Dunham Massey

A garden for all seasons, an ancient deer park and a house filled with treasures and stories. The paths around the gardens and the estate are all nice and flat and perfect for pushchairs.

Castle Park House and Gardens in Frodsham is an attractive historic park with nine hectares of Green Flag awarded grounds with a mixture of formal gardens, wide open green lawns, wooded areas and a great selection of playground equipment for children. It has two cafes including a place to get an ice cream.

We park just off Atlantic Street in the Transpennine Trail car park WA14 5RF. You can get straight onto the trail from this carpark. The trail is along an old railway line. It is a lovely, long, well surfaced wide path with no risks of cars and perfect for pushchairs, bikes, and scooters.

You can come off the trail at multiple locations to get something to eat. To Dunham Ice Cream Farm is Pushchair friendly, however to the Dunham Barn you have to go up steps although there is other routes to take without steps.

Once the site of a historic rail link for Cheshire’s salt industry, the Whitegate Way is flat, wide and straight, making it perfect for little cyclists, walkers and wheelchair users. Stretching for 10km from the heart of Winsford to Cuddington, the Way offers off road easy walking for all ages. Halfway along the old railway line is the main access point where you'll find a large free car park (CW7 2QE), toilets and a cafe. Pram friendly
