Adventure and play farm in Staffordshire with indoor and outdoor play equipment.

Play @ Lower Drayton Farm. Wow. This has got to be the biggest play farm I've been too and there is so much to play on. With plenty to do and see inside and out, this place is fantastic when the good old British weather has one of those days when it's sunny one minute and raining the next.

Loads of fun on the wavey slide

The playbarn houses a massive playframe with a large wavey racer slide, drop slide, astro football pitch, worm hole slide, a glass walkway and just a million things to run and climb on. It was almost impossible to get my girls out to look at other things on the farm and we ended up going back to this part three times during the day.

Inside this barn is also a role play village and a smaller play area for younger children. I would say the farm is great for all ages of children. Plenty to do for both toddlers while having lots for older children too. My 9 and 12 year old loved it.

Eating at Lower Drayton

Yummy food at the cafe

The cafe is next to the playframe with a large menu and counter filled with yummy looking cakes, icecreams and lunch box building for the kids. The cafe boasts that it serves its homegrown vegetables and meat from animals on the farm.

We had lunch at the cafe on our most recent visit, but you can also take a picnic and eat that at one of the many picnic tables outside or in the covered picnic barn.

Outside there is also lots more traditional farm animals to see. Owls, pigs, goats, sheep, llama and Donkeys. To get a full tour of the farm hop on board the Tractor ride at Drayton Station, which takes you to see the cows and the further fields.

Another barn full of fun is the Adventure Barn. In here you will find the scary dropslides, a theatre where you can watch a themed show during the farms special events and a craft station.

Meet the Animals

During the day there are "Meet & Greets" with some of the animals including rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, Donkeys and Ponies. We went to the reptile talk, which was an interesting 40min show. One man talked all about the animals while a lady came round the audience with the insect and reptiles to have a up close look at and even a stroke. A highlight for both girls was when they got to have a snake draped around their shoulders and a bearded dragon on their chest for some photos.

Ticket prices vary, depending when you go. The special events during school holidays are dearer while mid week termtime is the cheapest option if you have pre school age children. Tickets range between £12.50 -£17 per person.

It's definitely a full day of fun, we got there for 10am when it opened and there was still plenty we hadn't done when we left at 4pm.
