Marbury Country Park is perfect for an autumn walk, the trees were a gorgeous colour of orange and the solid paths make it dryer under foot even when it's been raining. The wide flat path around the Park takes you past the iconical line of trees of "Lime Avenue" through the woodland and around the wide open fields and then along Budworth Mere.
You can take a sneaky short cut through a field of cows which made my daughter delighted that she was so close to the humongous animals.
Once you have come full circle you will find a brand new play area near the Rangers office along with a small coffee van which impressively had a wide choice of things for sale including hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes and bacon and sausage sandwiches which smelt amazing.
The Play Area
The new playarea has a good range of wooden things to keep the children entertained, all within a safe wooden fence and gate. An impressive wooden climbing frame with rockclimbing wall, balancing ropes and nets. However I did feel it was missing a slide to get down. There are plenty of tables and benches to sit and rest while enjoying a drink from the van or to eat a picnic.
There are also toilet facilities near by and
also a large covered seating area for when the weather is a little more wet and windy.
Another area of the country park includes the arboretum and community orchard aswel as an outside swimming pool which can be used the the summer months.
After our walk and play we headed back to the carpark and found an icecream van parked up for people who were wanting a last treat before home.
