Madame Tussauds is just down the promenade from the famous Blackpool tower. It is
one of the many Merlin attractions that are on the seafront in Blackpool. It is a great family-friendly activity as it is suitable for all ages and even if you may not know all the wax works it is fascinating seeing them and you can easily learn about them while there.
I took my 9 year old daughter for a fun morning meeting the King of England, Mo Farah, and her favourite singer, Ariana Grande.
But before you think we have gone to some mad party, we were actually exploring inside Madame Tussauds in Blackpool. With over 80 wax figures of celebrities, film and television characters, athletes, and musicians. Step into the glittering world of fame.

There is a real mix of different famous people inside Madame Tussauds Blackpool. Some that she knew, some that she didn't, and some that are no longer with us.
It was a great activity to do one on one with her. We talked about the celebrities and reading the information boards as these even helped me to find out more about the stars as there were a few i wasn't sure about. And it was lovely when she was showing interest in them and asking what they did as it tells me she was enjoying her visit.
What i didn't expect was how interactive the attraction was. It wasn't just a case of wondering around looking at the wax works. Each section had its own theme, and they even had fun things to do, like putting your head inside a bush tucker trail from Celebrity Jungle or playing Ringo's drums in the Cavin Club. The interactive attraction lets you get up close and personal with some of Britain’s best-known celebrities; from Ed Sheeran to Jack and Vera Duckworth, Captain Marvel to HRH Queen Elizabeth II
Wax Hand
Towards the end of the attraction we were delighted to find a Wax Hand Making Opportunity. Here were pots of melted wax in lots of different colours. You could pay to dip your hand into the wax and it would make a lovely keep sake to take home of your own hand.
The reason why we were excited about this was that my daughter had one of these done when she was much younger and it is on display in her bedroom. We often look at it and talk about how small her hand was. She was really pleased she had the chance to make a new one now he was older and with a bigger hand. The cost of this is £15 for one or £25 for two. And you get 20% off it you have a Merlin Pass.

Strictly Come Dancing
Take to the floor and meet the stars of Strictly! Tess and Claudia join judge Craig Revel Horwood in the Brand New Strictly Come Dancing experience. Strictly is special to Blackpool as one week a year of the show is filled in The Blackpool Tower Ballroom so it had to be the first theme of the wax works.
As well as meeting the stars of Strictly, you can also lift a replica of the famous glitter ball trophy, bust a move on a Strictly inspired dancefloor and even raise a score paddle from behind a re-creation of the Strictly judges’ desk.
Music Stars Past & Present
Dance the day away in Festival Fields with brand new You Tube and music star KSI, you’ll find him hanging out with Ed Sheeran, Olly Murs and Ariana Grande. As if by magic you can also meet stars from the past including Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson and my personal favourite, The Beatles. Where my daughter loved having a go on Ringo's Drum Kit while I love lots of photos of the Cavern.
Be the Hero with Marvel!
Flick through the pages of a vintage Marvel comic as the characters come to live. Try to lift Thor's Hammer, climb the walls of a sky scrapper with Spiderman and have your photo taken with the Hulk.
Coronation Street
You can walk down the cobbles of Coronation Street to meet Corrie favourites David Platt, Michelle Connor and the legends of Jack and Vera Duckworth. You can take a seat in the Rovers Return and get a selfie with iconic barmaid Bet Lynch.
Royalty 👑
Bow or curtsy as you meet the Royal Family. King Charles III stands with his late mother Queen Elizabeth II and the Prince and Princess of Wales in the Royals zone. It was really interesting to see the Royal Families family tree displayed on the wall. We stood and chatted about this for a while, it was done with pictures so it was perfect for children to engage with.
Sporting Stars
On your marks, get set, go! This is your chance to see the world's biggest sports stars up close. Britain’s greatest sporting legends including Nicola Adams OBE, Mo Farrah and Lewis Hamilton.
Entertainment.
There is a whole host of entertainment stars who we normally see while sat in our living rooms, but now you can get up close. Sir David Attenborough is a much-loved and respected broadcaster and the face and voice of British natural history television programmes.
The best part of the entertainment section has to be the "I'm a celebrity". Pop your head inside a Bush Tucker Trial and get interviewed by Ant and Dec.
