When it's a sunny day there is nothing better than popping out for a tasty treat of a lovingly made Cheshire ice cream. We have some fantastic local farms and parlours in Cheshire who make their own ice cream from their own cows and lots of them have extra activities and events on to make it a great place to meet up with friends and to take the kids for a play and an ice cream.

Bidlea Dairy

This dairy has been producing milk for three generations and now turned its hand to creating some very good ice cream. You can sit and enjoy your ice cream while gazing at one of Cheshire’s iconic sights, the Lovell Telescope at Jodrell Bank, just across the fields

where Bidlea’s herd of Holstein Friesians graze.

Seven Sisters Ice Cream

This Cheshire Ice Cream Parlour is just outside of Knutsford and their menu is jam packed with naughty treats. They have a great new children's play area and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating making it a great place to meet friends or finish a day out with a treat.

They have sundaes, shakes, waffles and cookie dough, or simple scoops and tubs.

Dunham Massey Ice Cream Farm

The ice cream parlour and cafe is within a converted red brick barn with its distinctive bright "Dunham red" paint. It is just down the road from the Dunham Massey National Trust site, and is the perfect place to call in at while walking the Lymm Railway Trail. Their delicious ice cream is hand-made on the farm by Dianne, who designed the recipe herself. In summer, there’s a sunflower trail to follow and in autumn, there are thousands of pumpkins to pick.

The Ice Cream Farm is a family friendly tourist attraction bursting with all of the fun you need for a great day out in Cheshire. There is a large free play area in the middle then you use play passes to have a go on all their other attractions. Including sand and water play, indoor soft play, crazy golf and inflatables. Plus, with over 50 award-winning and irresistible Cheshire Farm Ice Creams and sorbets its hard to choose which to order.

Based at Castle Park in Frodsham, this ice cream parlour and cafe is a fab little place to visit for a snack, cake or ice cream while visiting the park and gardens.

🍦Great Budworth Ice Cream Farm

The farm is set on the edge of one of Cheshire’s prettiest villages. Enjoy a freshly made cone in their tearoom's garden. You can meet their friendly goats and in the summer they have a great sunflower maze.

🍦The Real Fruit Creamery

All the gelato and sorbets are made daily in small batches behind the scenes at the Malt Street premises in the heart of Knutsford. Perfect to visit after a walk around Tatton Park or a play on the Moor Playground.

🍦Blaze Farm

Nettles in the hills of the Peak District is this cafe and ice cream parlour. There’s a Nature Trail to follow, too, with carvings and other creations to spot.

Ice cream made with milk from the herd at Greenoaks Farm. A cute, little place with a few snacks and cakes on offer too. Perfect after a walk around Mobberley.

🍦Snugburys Ice Cream Congleton

Alcumlow Hall Farm is set in an idyllic location, with views towards the ruins of Mow Cop Castle. With over 30 flavours to choose from and a children's play area.

🍦Bene Gelateria

On one visit to Tuscany, Aaron had befriended a family of gelateria owners from Lucca, and when he decided to open up his own shop in the UK, they agreed to teach him the secrets of making gelato. They have 12 classical and not-so-classical flavours plus dairy-free limoncello and chocolate gelatos.

At Snugbury’s Ice Cream near Nantwich you can wander around their massive straw sculpture while devouring a double scoop of their famous ice cream.

Nestled in the rolling green hills of Diggle, Saddleworth, Grandpa Greene's offers glass fronted terraces, an indoor dining room, and waterfront seating.

🍦The Little Cow Shed Brereton

Soft Serve Ice Cream is available at Brereton Heath Local Nature Reserve on school holidays and weekends. From Cow to cone, this ice cream is handcrafted in small batches at their farm's micro diary. There are daily specials and exciting toppings too. For those that like their ice cream in a tub, they have these available in three flavours at The Little Cow Shed site.


🍦Daresbury Dairy Ltd

Daresbury Dairy Ice Cream is made with love and care on their farm in Daresbury. All their Ice Cream is made in small artisan batches using the finest ingredients and milk from the families dairy cows. There are many good footpaths near to the farm, including the Delamere Way.
