Esposito’s Deli and Ice Cream Parlour at Runcorn Hill Park
Esposito's Deli is a family run small chain of cafes which are all located public spaces and parks. They specialise in delicious hand made cakes, sandwiches, gelato and authentic Italian coffee all the way from Tuscany – served up in a way that only Esposito’s knows how.
The family’s journey in ice cream sales began in 1974 when Angelo Esposito arrived in Britain from Calabria in Italy. He went on to set up a business known as Mr Angelo Ice Cream and the story began.
In 1999, son Daniel followed in his father’s footsteps and became the founder of his own company, Esposito’s Ice Cream.
Not only is all of the food made fresh on-site, Esposito's also boasts authentic Italian coffee to wash everything down. So I'm a little disappointed I had my usual cup of tea when i visited. I must go back to try their coffee.

We were invited to come along to one of their delis. Runcorn was the closest location for us so during the Easter holidays we headed over for a day filled with playing at the park, a walk around Runcorn Hill and eating yummy Italian inspired food.
Esposito’s Ice Cream, which is now run by Daniel and his partner Lisa, has been rebranded and the future will see the creation of stylish and modern ice cream cafes and parlours, where people can enjoy the renowned Esposito service.
What We Ordered
🥪 Ham & Cheese Toastie
🥪 Pesto Chicken Ciabatta
🍞Toast with jam
🥤Cookie & Cream Gelato Milkshake
☕Tea
🍰Chocolate muffin
🍫Chocolate tiffin
🍦Chocolate Gelato
All the sandwiches are in a display fridge so was really easy to see the different ones available. My youngest daughter isn't keen on sandwiches so opted for jam on toast.
I ended up being totally jealous of my daughters cookie and cream milkshake. I sneaked a taste and it was heavenly. You could pick any flavour if their gelato to be made into a milkshake so there are plenty of flavour options.
The chocolate gelato on its own was also really good. This was really chocolaty and creamy and you can tell why Esposito's ice cream has been going for over 50 years.
The location of the cafe made it perfect to have a spot of lunch after a play in the nearby park. Afterwards we went for a walk around Runcorn Hill taking in the views across the River Mersey and then back to the park again for a last play before home.
The venues are all set within public spaces and parks. These include:

📍 Victoria Park, Widnes
