The Dockyard at Barons Quay is a bar with amazing burgers, pizza, craft ales, shuffleboards, darts, pool and arcade games!
"Can we come back tomorrow?" Always a line I love to hear from my kids.
This fantastic venue has opened at Barons Quay in Northwich. I went along with my two daughters aged 9 and 12 on a Saturday afternoon. It is a great place to go as a family, to have some competitive fun, meet friends & enjoy tasty food.

Drinks at Dockyard
First off, there is a large bar offering craft beers from Mobberley Brewhouse and Hush Brew Co, which is a Nano Brewery in Northwich. Aswel as big name brands such as Madri, Coors & Guinness. Plus a selection of spirits and soft drinks.
You won't struggle with a place to sit as there is lots of seating, including cosy, intimate booths, large tables for big groups, or balancing on a bar stool as you play pool.
Head upstairs & there is more seating on their amazing rooftop terrace, filled with sparkly lights, views of the River Weaver, a second bar & what could be a dance floor!!
To get your bums off those seats is a whole host of fun games. There are 4 pool tables for you to play on, classic arcade machines dotted around the venue, interactive darts, UV ping pong, but the highlight for us had to be the shuffle boards.
Shuffleboards
There are 2 large shuffleboards and 2 smaller boards called "Bankshot Shufl".
This was our first time playing, so a member of staff kindly showed us how it works. It's such a simple and fun game, especially when playing it with a small group. You take it in turns to slide your pucs along the board, trying to get the highest score. First to 15 wins.
Food at Dockyard
After playing Shufl, we ordered some lunch. We had to try a pizza from Ply. This famous
pizza restaurant from Manchester has a kitchen inside Dockyard. There is another kitchen by Home Town Burgers serving up amazing loaded burgers, so you really do have to try some of the amazing food on offer.
We chose the "Goat" pizza, which was freshly made in their pizza ovens. It had goats, cheese, chirizo, & chilli jam and was heavenly. We got some fries to go with it and was perfect for me and the girls to share.
Pool Tables
Next, we had a go on the pool tables. The tables were all in use but there is plenty of seats to sit and wait for your turn. My girls played a game together. My 9 year old is new to pool so we were teaching her how to hold the que and my other daughter was so cute helping her take her shots. It was a really fun activity to do together even though it took her a while to hit the ball.
I met and spoke to the Manager Dan, he has worked for the Dockyard chain of bars for nine and a half years, starting out behind the bar at the flagship venue in Media City so this new venue is in good hands.
If you have younger children then there is another new venue a couple of doors down at Barons Quay. Wild Tots has links to the Dockyard as the Owner of Ply Pizza owns Wild Tots. To read all about Wild Tots Click here. Wild Tots at Barons Quay in Northwich (daysoutandmealsout.com)
This is the perfect place to visit whether you want to challenge your kids or your workmates. Its industrial styling & weekly live music make it a great addition to the town and a fun place to relax.
