There is lots to see and do at Castle Park House and Gardens making it easy to spend a day exploring, playing, enjoying lunch or an ice cream. We have visited the park a couple of times and the girls always enjoy the two different play areas and a trip to the cafe for a treat.

Children's Play Areas

The main children's play area has a good selection of things to play on. A massive wooden climbing frame with a spiral slide, a wooden pirate boat to climb on which is sat in a sand pit. Then there is a second large sand play area with suspended buckets on a chain, which you can fill & then lower to empty again. Just remember to bring your own spades. It also has the usual swings and roundabout and plenty of seating for parents.

The second area is a short walk through the woodland. Here, you will find a large area of grass with the running track, a really good zip wire. (I know as i had a go on it). Some more swings and a wooden assault course to challenge yourself on.

Ice Cream Parlour

Between the two play areas is a small cafe called "Cheeky Ice Cream" it has both inside and outside seating and toilets. https://www.facebook.com/cheekyicecream

They serve light snacks such as sandwiches, hotdogs, soup & children's lunch boxes, which I thought were at a really reasonable price. Their stand-out item has to be their ice cream sundaes. Priced at just £4 each (June 2024), you got a lot for your money. Plus, there are four choices of flavour including the two we went for which were Oreo and Mint Aero. My daughter got a Screwball Special which had Mr Whippy ice cream, bubble gum, unicorn sprinkles, marshmallows, sauce and a flake. She was very pleased with her choice when got handed the fabulous looking ice cream,

The Courtyard Cafe

There is a larger cafe where the Art Centre & shops are. The "Courtyard Cafe" has a bigger menu with jacket potatoes. It also has the fab addition of live music every day at 11am.

The Art Centre holds lots of different exhibitions, events and workshops running so check out their Facebook page to keep

updated.
