Brimstage Farm & Maze is a fantastic day out for all the family. It has lots of fun activities for children with fun games and play equipment. They put on multiple events through out the year such as their summer Maize Maze, Farmfest and Country Fair in May and event host parties.
Get Lost Inside Brimstage Maze! a truly hidden gem of the Wirral

This was our second visit to Brimstage Maze, as we visited their Family Farmfest event in May. They had added lots of new activities since then, we were pleased to find a new wooden play area which had two sections. One for toddlers and one for bigger kids. It had little bridges, walkways, slides and poles to slide down. Plus, for summer they had created not one but two maize mazes, which had great activities inside.

Barnyard Bingo Maze
The two mazes were both really good fun. The smaller maze is perfect for little ones. We got given a barnyard bingo card and pencil and set off into the maze. We were looking for boards with pictures of animals or other farm yard items. Every time you found one, you crossed it off your card, shouting bingo when you got a line or a full house.

Pub Quiz Maze
Next up was the large maze which had a pub quiz inside. You got a sheet to fill in, looking for the question boards hidden in the maze. There were 10 pirate boards which had easy questions for children and 10 pirate boards with harder questions for the adults. There was a good selection of questions, mainly about tv, film and characters. The maze is actually really big and has lots of turns so we did end up getting a bit lost and even when we had decided to finish the maze and come out it still took us a while to find our to the exit.

Barrel Ride
This runs on the hour, for 30mins. The barrel ride was our personal favourite. A little tractor pulls 8 barrels which you can hop inside and you are driven round a cutely decorated course. What makes it stand out is that you actaully go through some of the maize maze which is really cool but also its surprisingly quite a smooth ride and didnt shake your bones the whole time.

Target Zone
Inside the target zone you can have a go at both archery and a football target game. The football in particular I've never seen anywhere else before. You kicked a ball at a massive inflatable darts board and the ball stuck to the target so you could see what score you got. My eldest daughter loved this concept as did my husband so they had a good few go on it. The archery was a very safe version as instead of pointy arrows you fired foam ended arrows at some colourful boards a few meters away.
There is even a water fight contraption where you can fill lots of little balloons with water from the lined up taps and then you can take aim and catapult them into the faces of your family and friends! A good way to cool off on a hot day and to get revenge on your child when they didn't make their bed.

Wooden Play Area
There is a brand new wooden outside play area. This looks great as really nicely designed with steps and walkways, slides and a fireman's pole. There is a big one and a smaller one for toddlers which is super cute. Both of the structures are sat within a massive sand pit too so if you bring a bucket and spade you can have a little dig in the sand too.

Everything Else
Plus, there is even more things to do including a little and big bouncing pillow, pedal go karts, 3 racing zip wires, rock climbing wall and farm animal crochet. I'm sure this place will keep growing too, with the addition they have added since our last visit I'm excited to see what they add next.

Brimstage Staff
I have to say the staff were excellent at Brimstage Maze. They are mainly young teenagers but they were all so friendly, helpful and polite. They patiently showed children how to do the archery and the other games. When you entered the maze there was staff to explain how the two maze activities worked. They definitely added to our experience and made it a really enjoyable time.

Indoor Play Barn
All year round Brimstage Farm is open with its indoor play barn. This is a large play frame with slides and walkways, plus a toddler section. There is a little food outlet inside serving drinks and snacks and lots of picnic benches inside. It would be great to visit on a wet day.

Food & Drink
You can bring your own picnic from home on your visit and there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy it including both outside and inside/covered seating. If you would rather buy something to eat then there is the "Farmhouse Kitchen" which has hotdogs, nachos and deli items. They were reasonably priced with nothing over £5
