Bear Grills Cafe in Congleton
Bear Grills Cafe in Congleton

Bear Grills Cafe in Congleton is a small but fantastic cafe serving the biggest selection of breakfasts ever. Lunches and Children's meals are also on offer.

What a great find. Me and my husband travelled into Congleton to find somewhere for lunch on my birthday.

We had walked past Bear Grills plenty of times but never been in so we decided to give it go.

It's a small independent cafe serving mainly breakfast. But don't start thinking that it is a limited menu. Far from it. If you are after a smaller meal there is bacon or sausage sandwiches, filled oatcakes or eggs on toast. For a fuller meal, choose from a small, medium or large fry up including black pudding. American style breakfasts with pancakes or "The best of British" with haggis were an option too.

If you aren't after breakfast however, there is a good selection of jacket potatoes, toasties and burgers. Plus a good children's menu.

My husband went for the "Grizzly Burger". Served on a pile of fries the burger included a beef patty, bacon, cheese, fried egg & potato waffle.

I went for an omelette, which is always a favourite of mine when I see it on a menu. I chose the "Special" which had bacon, cheese, black pudding and sausage. It was my birthday after all.

The food was tasty and we loved the whole feel of the place. The staff were friendly and I love to support local businesses. They did free hot drink top ups every day. And also had "cost of living deals" which included a cooked breakfast for £5 on a Friday.

Plus anywhere that has a "pay it forward" board to help people less fortunate is a good place in my mind.

So next time your after a well cooked breakfast head to Bear Grills
