This is a brand new Australian-themed Adventure Golf course at Adlington Golf Centre in Macclesfield, Cheshire. It is now the largest Adventure Golf in Europe featuring 18 holes that are played over 1500sqm of greens and a 10,000sqm site! There are three caves to explore, four bridges to cross and a 7.5m waterwall to play through! So it is a seriously impressive course. While walking through one of the caves i was literally thinking "how on earth have they made this?"
We really enjoyed the Australian theme, most adventure golfs are dinosaurs or pirate theme so it was refreshing to see a new and interesting design.
We went a brilliantly sunny day in September and spent a good 2 hours playing the 18 hole course. Each hole had its own iconic Australian landmark or something that Australia is famous for. From the well know Sydney Opera House to King George falls, you’ll even play through the centre of Uluru. Watch out for the wildlife as you’ll encounter snakes, hear the Australian song birds and even see Tasmanian Devils – not to mention a massive 15ft Skippy the Kangaroo.
For three of the holes you go inside massive caves, including one where you actually get splashed by a giant waterfall as you play your shot behind it. The structure are fantastic, so much thought and attention to detail has gone into everything. Even the bins are designed like cans of Australian Beer or other Aussie brands.

Our Final Verdict
This is a really fun adventure golf course and was actually really interesting too. Each hole had a board telling you about that hole, its design and some facts about that Australian animal or landmark. So, as someone who has never been to Australia actually found out more about it. They also give you something to read while waiting for your turn. The holes are a great level of trickiness, you'll be signing under your breath when you keep missing the hole due to the little hills and slopes. And of course we all love a bit of competition. Our eldest is always the score card holder and then there is that gripping moment when she's adding up the scores and announces who won and who did amazingly badly. Adventure golf is a great family friendly activity and Adlington Golf Centre have pulled out the big gun when designing theirs. It is definitely worth a visit and you can even play at night with the flood lights on up until 10pm!! So grab those mum friends and head there for an evening game with out the kids too.
Food & Drink
At the adventure golf shack you can get drinks, snacks and ice creams and sit and enjoy them at their little outside seating area just by the golf. Again with an Australian theme with palm trees 🌴
There is also the main Coffee shop at Adlington Golf Centre with indoor and outdoor seating. It serves freshly ground coffee, teas, cold drinks, beers and wines. They also stock a variety of crisps, cakes and chocolate bars.

There is plenty more activities to do at Adlington Golf Centre too. There is the Range, Footgolf and 2 different golf courses with different levels to have a leisurely game on.
