Afternoon tea at Rabbit Hole Tea Room
This quirky little tea room is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The Rabbit Hole Tea Room is a family run business in Stoke on Trent in Staffordshire and is a little hidden gem sitting opposite Stoke Minster.
From the outside, it could look like an other cafe, but as you step inside, you literally travel down the rabbit hole and into the magical world of everything Alice in Wonderland. It's so beautiful. and everywhere you look there are tea cups, clocks and the little white rabbits making it such a whimsical place to visit.

The Rabbit Hole Tea Room first opened its doors in 2018 and has become well known for its fabulous afternoon teas.
Now, it does have a full lunch menu but 90% of the people sat in the tea room were sipping unusual flavoured teas and sat in front of a 3 tier stand filled with gorgeous homemade afternoon teas.
Lunch Menu
The lunch menu did also look great. With sandwiches, toasties and ploughman's etc. The ploughman's in particular looks very naughty with homemade sausage rolls, wedges of cheese and scotch eggs.
⚠️You must pre order your afternoon teas as they are so popular, especially their special themed afternoon teas such as a Bridgerton in Wonderland which is coming up.
My sister in law booked ours for a special birthday treat for me. So she had left the details as a surprise. I was delighted to hear that you get to make personalised selections for your afternoon tea once you are there.
First off sandwiches, you can choose up to 4 different fillings and what sort of bread they come on. Next you choose which of the massive sponge cakes you would like. On our day there was the choice of Victoria, Raspberry and White Chocolate, Bakewell or my choice of Chocolate Orange.
Finally, you had to make the difficult choice of scone. Plain, fruit or the special of the day which was blueberry and white chocolate.
💖I loved the fact you could make these decisions as it made even more exciting and special.
Drinks
I was also very interested by their tea selection. They had all the usuals of breakfast, peppermint etc. but then they had some weird and wonderful teas.
Chocolate digestive, carrot cake, vanilla rooibos. I had to go for rhubarb and custard. And oh my gosh it actually tasted like rhubarb and custard. The lovely member of staff said if i didn't like the tea i could easily change it too but that wasn't needed as i loved it. And now have to find out where i can get it for home!!
☕My sister in law ordered a coffee. Both of our drinks came in gorgeous, quirky pots. Everything was quirky in fact.
The Afternoon Tea
Our magnificent 3-tier-stand was delivered absolutely filled to the brim and was a real feast for the eyes. With both finger sandwiches and mini rolls, crisps, salad and chutney on the first tier. Our choice of scones, cream, jam and a slab of our sponge cake was on the 2nd tier. Finally, on top was a selection of cute and tantalizing sweet treats. This included a heart shortbread, chocolate dipped strawberry, a Rolo muffin, a very cute pot of cheesecake (which was to die for and I could have eaten a pint of the stuff), and a pink lemonade in he smallest glasses ever which was an obvious nod to the famous "drink me" from Alice in Wonderland.
Final verdict
For any Afternoon Tea fan, the Rabbit Hole is an absolute must tea room. Everything about it from the gorgeously made food, the little cute details, and the friendly staff made it such a special and memorable experience.
The tea room really is unique and so much effort goes it to the customers experience that this place deserves being so busy.
