Afternoon Tea at Holmes Chapel Community Centre
Afternoon Tea at Holmes Chapel Community Centre

🌸🍰My sister in law and I went along to Holmes Chapel Community Centre's first Afternoon Tea event.

We arrived to be welcomed in to a room beautifully set out with 7 large round tables covered in white linen and cute teacups. In the middle of the tables sat trays of triangle homemade sandwiches and tiered cake stands filled with yummy delights. For just £7.50 each it was very good quality food, lovely attentive staff and friendly conversation.

The community centre usually do a Monday Lunch Club which is aimed at the over 50's. It is a subsidized 2 course lunch at only £6. To help elderly people in our community get out and meet people. It is a lovely idea and is always well attended which is great to hear.

After many people requesting an event on another day and one that was open to the whole community, then Jade Stone and the team at the community centre came up with the Afternoon Tea idea.

The event was an obvious success as 48 guests had booked including myself and sister in law (who are keen fans of an afternoon tea).

We sat on a table with 4 other ladies and got chatting to them straight away. One lady had come on her own not knowing anyone, she explained that she knew everyone would be friendly and welcoming so felt comfortable coming on her own which was lovely to hear.

The Afternoon Tea is only £7.50 which is a great price and it included plenty of sandwiches. The fillings were egg and salad, ham and tomato, tuna and cucumber and cheese and onion.

The tantilising cakes on offer were carrot cake, lemon drizzle, a raspberry mouse, a mini chocolate éclair and of course a fruit scone with big pots of jam and cream to add on.

To finish off the experience there was bottomless tea and coffee being brought round by the helpful staff.

The Community Center will be hosting this delightful afternoon tea session every 3rd Friday of the month. Mark your calendars and book to come for an afternoon filled with delectable treats and warm conversations. Everyone is welcome.

Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity to indulge in a relaxing and delicious experience. Spread the word and invite your friends and loved ones to join you for the next monthly afternoon tea session.
